Antoine Martinet dit Mioshe dessine et peint sur le mur et sur la toile la relation entre l’humain, l'urbain, la nature et l’espace dans lesquels ses éléments s’inscrivent. Son univers mêle figures hybrides et chimériques, la faune et la flore, le masculin et le féminin, le cosmique et l’historique.
À la fois paysagères et parfois cartographiques, ses compositions picturales peuvent faire penser à certaines peintures de la Renaissance flamande, ou encore, dans un registre plus lointain, aux archétypes de la Grèce antique ou l’Egypte ancienne.
Ces voyages à travers les époques lui permettent de mettre en lumière des sujets sensibles notamment dans son travail de tapisseries et de peinture sur jarres : La consommation des ressources naturelles, les zones à défendre ou encore les rapports de dominations en société sont autant de thèmes que l’artiste tente d’aborder dans ces oeuvres.
Depuis une décennie un bon nombre de ses interventions prennent place dans l’espace public en France mais aussi à travers des réalisations murales en partenariat avec les Institut français, Phnom Penh en 2016, Saint-Petersbourg en 2019 et plus récemment Bucarest en 2022.
Le travail déployé est nécessairement en résonance avec l’environnement.
L’architecture, les couleurs du paysage et l’histoire des lieux sont autant de matière à considérer pour la narration picturale de la future création.
Antoine Martinet known as Mioshe draws and paints on the wall and on the canvas the relationship between humans, the urban, nature and the space in which its elements are inscribed.
His universe mixes hybrid and chimerical figures, fauna and flora, the masculine and the feminine, the cosmic and the historical. Both landscape and sometimes cartographic, his pictorial compositions can bring to mind certain paintings from the Flemish Renaissance, or even, in a more distant register, the archetypes of ancient Greece or ancient Egypt.
These journeys through the ages allow him to highlight sensitive subjects, particularly in his work of tapestries and painting on jars: The consumption of natural resources, areas to be defended or even the relationships of domination in society are all themes that the artist attempts to address in these works.
For a decade, a good number of his interventions have taken place in public spaces in France but also through mural creations in partnership with the French Institute, Phnom Penh in 2016, Saint-Petersburg in 2019 and more recently Bucharest in 2022.
The work deployed necessarily resonates with the environment. The architecture, the colors of the landscape and the history of the place are all materials to consider for the pictorial narration of the future creation.
